5 Creative Date Night Ideas for Valentine’s Day
Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. While the usual flowers and chocolates are always nice, why not treat your sweetheart to an extra special date night in Youngstown this year? Here are five creative date night ideas that you and your special someone can enjoy in the Mahoning County area!
Book a Night at the Historic Sebring Mansion
This Valentine’s Day, surround yourself and your sweetheart with breathtaking architecture, great entertainment and delectable food at the Sebring Mansion Inn & Spa. The Mansion will be offering dinner and A Paul McCartney & Friends Tribute on February 14 for $75 per person. Starting at 6pm, guests can enjoy a champagne welcome, hors d’oeuvres, multi-course dinner and entertainment to follow. Experience a Youngstown Area Winery
This Valentine’s Day, our area wineries are pulling out all the stops with a diverse selection of wines and plethora of entertaining events. For a romantic dinner, make reservations at L’uva Bella Winery. If brunch dates are more your love language, purchase tickets to Brunch and Bubbly at The Vineyards at Pine Lake on February 9 from 12pm–3pm.

Enjoy the YSU Valentine’s Day Cabaret
Nothing says love like a performance filled with romantic ballads, right? Spend your February 14th downtown at the B&O Station for the Valentine’s Day Cabaret: A Kiss to Build a Dream On, presented by the Youngstown State University Department of Theatre and Dance. The performance will start at 7pm and feature a variety of jazz favorites from the American Song Book. Make it an evening with the special gourmet dinner option, prepared by the experts at the B&O! (Dinner reservations must be received by Thursday, February 6). A cash bar and a Youngstown Cookie Table will make your Valentine’s Day one of a kind.
Attend a Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Performance
Plan your date night on February 15 and attend “Now That’s Italian” by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra at DeYor Performing Arts Center. Expect a delightful evening of Italian Pop, Broadway and Grand Opera favorites – from Puccini to Sinatra. For tickets, call the DeYor box office at 330-744-0264 or visit youngstownsymphony.com. Cheer on the Youngstown Phantoms
For a family-friendly way to spend Valentine’s Day, cheer on the Youngstown Phantoms hockey team at the Covelli Centre. Friday, February 14 is their Teddy Bear Toss – bring a teddy bear to the game to toss on the ice when the Phantoms score their first goal. Proceeds go to Fostering Dreams. There will be free popcorn, Pepsi & cotton candy with a $5 ticket for ages 12 and under. Saturday, February 15 is “Drink in the Rink” night, which means visitors can enjoy $1 hotdogs until the end of 1st intermission and $1 12 oz. beer until the end of 2nd intermission.
