1. Explore Mill Creek MetroParks
Encompassing more than 2,800 natural acres, Mill Creek MetroParks offers 45 miles of trails to explore. Boardwalks, paved walkways and unpaved trails take visitors through the diverse lands and scenery of this breathtaking park. Located in Mill Creek MetroParks is Fellows Riverside Gardens. This twelve-acre display garden features a landscape of remarkable beauty with diverse and colorful plant displays, roses of all classes, seasonal displays of annuals, perennials, and flowering bulbs, and scenic vistas. Enjoy lunch overlooking Lake Glacier at the Garden Cafe by Kravitz, located inside the Davis Visitor Center.
2. Get Inspired at the Butler Institute of American Art
Walk through history at the world-renowned Butler Institute of American Art. Known as “America’s Museum”, The Butler was the first museum in the country established to house artwork created solely by American artists. Its ever-expanding collection now exceeds 22,000 pieces in all media types, dating back to 1710. Max Mason: Painting the Game is on exhibit June 13 – September 5, 2021. The paintings of Max Mason are impressive on a variety of levels. Staying with the magical theme of baseball he presents a virtual clinic on composition and color usage. Admission to the Butler is free.
3. Visit White House Fruit Farm
White House Fruit Farm is known for their homemade produce including strawberries, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, sweet corn, asparagus, tomatoes, peppers, squash, onions, cucumbers, and eggplant. You’ll also find a deli (40 cheeses and 40 meats), bakery (can’t forget their famous blueberry donuts!), homemade fudge, 3000 specialty foods, and freshly pressed apple cider.
