Pumpkin and Apple Picking

@mcboberts_White HouseYou can’t fully enjoy fall without apple or pumpkin picking and there’s plenty of opportunities to do so! Enjoy Fall Weekends at Molnar Farms throughout October where you can pick your own pumpkins or apples, work your way through the family-friendly corn maze or enjoy a hayride. Harvest Season is at its peak at White House Fruit Farm every day with their Fall Gift Barn stocked with holiday décor and gift items, and Pumpkin Pavilion for picking pumpkins and gourds. On the weekends, enjoy horse drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo and concession stands. If you’re looking for fall flowers and mums, head to Angiuli’s Farm Market to pick up everything you need. They also have fresh vegetables grown on-site and everything you need if you’re canning veggies.

Wineries

@lizartlibrarian_Hallidays Winery

As the weather cools down, head to one of our many wineries to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and landscapes each has to offer. Grab one of the specialty sangrias at Halliday’s Winery then head outside and sit by one of the fire pits. Or head over to L’uva Bella Winery and purchase a bottle of their Apple Passion or the brand new Apple Pie Passion wine to enjoy with one of their menu specialties from the Bistro.

Halloween Festivities

@martinomotorsports_fellowsriversidefall2Looking for a little bit of a scare? Nightmare at the Canfield Scaregrounds is held every Friday to Sunday throughout October. Travel through the haunted house’s five terrifying attractions: Barn of Evil, Slaughter House, Gore Reformatory, Haunted Circus and Zombie Paintball Massacre. For the little ones, Monster Mania offers scenes featuring the Sanderson Sisters. After a good scare, enjoy games, entertainment and a variety of food trucks. The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is offering their Oak Hill Cemetery Walking Tour on Sunday, October 24. This walking tour will explore the stories of the famous and not-so-famous Mahoning Valley residents interred there, as well as fascinating facts around the design, traditions, and history of cemeteries. Solve the mystery at the Das Dutch Village Event Center’s dinner theater, A Calamityville Murder. You’ll love this unique brand of interactive theater when acclaimed horror-novelist, Stephen Queen, is offered a bet by rival Ann Spice. He will receive $1 million and Ann will retire if Stephen can survive the night at the infamous house on Calamityville Street.
