Great question! Snapshots of Youngstown Winter 2021 encourages you to start the new year off right in a healthy and positive way. Share a photo of what YOU are doing for a fresh start to 2021 and YOU can be randomly chosen as one of two weekly winners of a $50 restaurant gift card. We’re talking some of Youngstown’s favorite local eateries, like Springfield Grille, Barry Dyngles, Zenobia Middle Eastern Cuisine, and Salvatore’s Italian Grill, just to name a few.

- Continue submitting photos for more entries!
Two winners of a $50 local restaurant gift card will be chosen each week, January 19 through February 28. Winners will be chosen at random and notified on Mondays. One of the best ways to get active is just to get out and take a walk. Walking is proven to help your heart and lung function, reduce risk of disease and help manage medical conditions. We’re fortunate that Mahoning County has so many beautiful parks to enjoy, just perfect for starting your walking program. There are over 45 miles of trails to explore in Mill Creek MetroParks. You can access their Trail Guide here. Other hiking and walking trails include Berlin Lake Trail, Lake Milton Trail and Shelter House Trail at Poland Municipal Forest.

Each video is only a few minutes long, so you can fit them in at lunch time, when the kids are napping or whenever you have a bit of free time.
YMCA Virtual Classes
Wherever you are, the YMCA has you covered with a variety of free fitness classes via YMCA 360 On Demand. Whether you’re looking to learn pilates or yoga, take a cycling class, brush up on your basketball skills or get in a full-body workout, you’ll find a host of videos available you can try as long as you have Wi-Fi.
YSU Virtual Recreation
Pro tip: You don’t have to be a student at Youngstown State University to take advantage of the fitness and nutrition videos on their Campus Rec page. All workouts were created in hopes to lower your stress levels, stay active and provide useful info. All exercises are based on ACSM Guidelines for Exercise Prescription and include simple workouts, yoga and circuit training.
MCMP Virtual Healthy Living Programs
Mill Creek MetroParks is offering Virtual Healthy Living Programs. The programs are available online to the public at no charge and are taught by Healthy Living Public Instructors. Topics include yoga, meditation, and T’ai Chi.
