Why We’re Thankful for Youngstown Breweries (And Why You Should Be Too)
In Youngstown & Mahoning County, there is much to be thankful for. From the beautiful parks and new entertainment venues to unique restaurants and unbeatable attractions, how can you not be thankful? This year, we’re especially thankful for breweries. Here’s why.
The Atmospheres Are Never Ordinary
Step inside our breweries and you will quickly realize that each has its own uniquely different atmosphere. For example, inside Biker BrewHouse in Austintown, you’ll find lots of metal and motorcycle-inspired décor. The BrewHouse is located inside BikeTown Harley Davidson and serves six rotating beers on tap, brewed with maple syrup and honey from their family farm. Also located in Austintown, Paladin Brewing offers an ever-expanding variety of craft brews. Their current Beer of the Month is Fire Roasted Pumpkin Ale. For an entirely different environment, visit Noble Creature Cask House, an old church-turned brewery, located near downtown Youngstown. Pair one of their artisan ales, lagers, sours or barrel aged beers with a handcrafted appetizer or sandwich.
You Can Expect Locally-Crafted Quality
Penguin City Beer is a Youngstown-based brewery that has their product served at a wide range of restaurants and bars throughout Mahoning County. At last count, you can enjoy Penguin City Beer at 315 locations in our area. Lil Paws Winery in Lake Milton also offers 6 craft beers in addition to their wines. All of their brews are named after the owners’ furry friends.
Other Can’t-Miss Options for the Craft Beer Lover
At Whistle & Keg in downtown Youngstown, you can sample just a little, or enjoy a full glass by selecting any of their 44 beers from their self-service taps. Right now, seasonal flavors include Citra Noel, 12 Dogs of Christmas Ale, Cinnamon Roll Imperial Ale, Pecan Brown Ale and Old Zahm Oktoberfest. Magic Tree Pub & Eatery always has 41 beers on tap, including a dedicated bar for Belgian beers. All pair nicely with their famous 1-pound pretzels. Ranked as the #1 bottle shop in Ohio, Vintage Estate Wine & Beer in Boardman has over 1,300 (yes…1,300) craft beer selections on their shelves, and 34 craft beers on tap. Looking for something out of the ordinary? This place is for you!
